About this scorecard

Ratings are based on past record in office, questionnaire responses, and public statements. A blank rating means a candidate's position on the issue was unclear, mixed, or could not be found.

For Congress and Maryland Legislature, only selected races are shown. We tried to include the most important contests.

Candidates who are unopposed in their primaries, or who did not respond to our questionnaire and didn't take clear positions elsewhere, are not shown. If a candidate provided responses to the questionnaire, their response is linked in their name on the table.
